The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) visited Barangay Camingawan, Kabankalan City, for a housing project site validation on September 4, 2024.
LTC ZIEGFRED D. TABAYAN INF (GSC) PA led AFP’s 542nd Engineering Infantry Battalion, with the DAR -Negros Occidental Provincial Office and Kabankalan City Office personnel.
The housing project recipients for the ten-hectare site are insurgent returnees who underwent rehabilitation programs of the Philippine Government and are currently under the care of the AFP for reintegration into society.
The AFP-DAR team met with Central Philippines State University President, Dr. Aladino C. Moraca, and the Chairman of Barangay Camingawan, Hon. Ricardo M. Regalia, Jr. for a courtesy visit.
Initiatives like the AFP-spearheaded housing project are a concrete illustration of the Philippine Government’s advocacy of ending insurgency by improving the lives of Filipinos, especially in rural areas where there is a lack of access to opportunities.
