Campus Overview:
The general mandate of Central Philippines State University as indicated in Section 2 of the Republic Act No. 10228 states that "The University shall primarily provide advanced education, higher Technological professional instruction, and training in agriculture/fisheries, animal science, forestry, education, computer studies, engineering, arts and sciences and other relevant fields of study. It should also promote and undertake research, extension services and provide progressive leadership in its area of specialization". As stated in Section 3 of RA 10228 provides curricular offerings of the university, to wit: "The University shall offer undergraduate and graduate studies in the fields of agriculture/fisheries, animal science, forestry, education, computer studies, engineering, arts and sciences, short-term technical or diploma courses in agriculture technology and other degrees within in areas of specialization and accordance to its capabilities, as the Board of Regents may deem as necessary to carry out its objectives and to meet the needs of the Province of Negros Occidental and Region VI." Negros State College of Agriculture, Moises Padilla Campus face unto the majestic cone of Canlaon Volcano, surrounds by the verdant and beautiful nature. It is located in the locality of Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental with a distance of about 30 kms. away from the City of Canlaon and approximately 79 kms. away from the City of Bacolod. It is the pioneer State College established in the town of Moises Padilla through the effort of the local government headed by Mayor Francisco M. Nazareno and the Sangguniang Bayan Members at Brgy. 7, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental of about 4.4 hectares of lot donated by the Hon. Mayor Francisco M. Nazareno and Family. Its purpose of establishing this Agricultural school is to hasten economic development of the country by training the youth in scientific agriculture and other allied courses. Board Resolution No. 39, s. 2007 officially created the Negros State College of Agriculture, Moises Padilla Campus on September 19, 2007. It became operation on June 10, 2008, with seven (7) classrooms building worth 3.0 million Provincial Government with comfort room through Gov. Isidro P. Zayco, Vice Gov. Emilio "Dino" Yulo III with seven hundred thousand pesos (P700,000.00) municipal counterpart through Mayor Francisco M. Nazareno, Vice mayor Cipriano P. Remo Jr. and the municipal council members together with the support of our very own President Freddie C. Maningo, Ph.D., CPA. NSCA, Moises Padilla Campus has been attracting students from different and cities of Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental. Its relevant and affordable curricular programs and its agricultural environment that is pleasant and conducive for learning, have constantly drawn clients who wish to acquire appropriate technology and skills for productive, decent and gainful living. NSCA is strongly committed to carrying out better Instruction, Production, Research, and Extension. All these functions have been carried out towards meeting the needs of students, out-of-school youth, and young adults, thus making them useful and productive citizens.
