A 16.5 KW Hybrid Ongrid/Offgrid Solar Power System now powers Central Philippines State University Sipalay Campus Library Building.
Aligned with the university’s commitment to a greener university, the CPSU Sipalay Campus invested P970,595 in addressing the rising electrical charges of the campus.
The project turnover from the contractor succeeded the solar power system’s four-day installment process.
The installed Hybrid Ongrid/Offgrid Solar Power System is foreseen to serve as a baseline project for administration and student-initiated power energy related studies in the future.
Spearheaded by Sir Charlie Magne Coronel with the support of CPSU Sipalay Campus Administrator Dr. Ervin Ferraris, the project is not only a short-term countermeasure in addressing increasing power demand but was conceptualized as a long-term investment for the university.
The El Niño weather phenomenon experienced in the Philippines has caused a larger general demand on electricity and has indirectly affected utility costs throughout the country.
