The Bachelor of Science in Applied Statistics program of the College of Arts and Sciences and the Bachelor in Sugar Technology program of the College of Agriculture and Forestry of Central Philippines State University passed Phase 1 of 2 phases of evaluation for Level III accreditation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc.
The AACCUP assessed the programs on November 26 to December 1, 2018. It issued the Board Action to CPSU on December 17, 2018. In that Action, AACCUP also granted Level II accreditation status to the following programs offered by CPSU Main Campus:
- Bachelor of Arts majors in English and Social Science
- Bachelor of Science in Forestry
- Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
- Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management
- Bachelor of Science in Criminology
Level II accreditation of the six programs is valid from December 16, 2018 to December 15, 2022. The Level II accreditation of BS Statistics and Sugar Technology programs is valid from December 16, 2018 to December 15, 2019.
The accreditation gives the institution the distinction of having complied with the requirements of AACCUP in terms of mission, goals and objectives, faculty, curriculum and instruction, student services, research, extension and community involvement, library services, physical facilities, laboratories, and administration.
Level III Phase 2 accreditation gives the institution the distinction of having excelled in the areas of instruction and extension, which are mandatory; and two more areas to be chosen from among research, performance in licensure examination, faculty development, and linkages.
