Accrediting Agency for Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) conducted a five-day virtual evaluation of the eight programs of CPSU Hinobaan, Sipalay, Cauayan, Victorias and San Carlos Campuses last Sept. 20-24, 2021 via Zoom teleconference.
Said programs were the Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEED) in Cauayan campus headed by its Campus Administrator Dr. Germa Borres, the Bachelor in Secondary Education (BSED) in Sipalay campus headed by Dr. Ervin Ferraris, the Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEED) and the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) in Victorias campus headed by Sir Noel Fordente, the Bachelor of Science in Agri-Business (BSAB) and the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) in Hinobaan campus headed by Sir Mark Anthony Abello, and the Bachelor in Secondary Education (BSED) and the Bachelor of Science in Agri-Business (BSAB) in San Carlos campus headed by Dr. Moody Deocares.
For the Victorias and Hinobaan campuses, the overall AACCUP coordinator was Dr. Hedeliza Pineda of Cebu Technological University (CTU). She was assisted by Dr. Cornelia Partosa of BukSU as the team leader for the BEED program in Victorias Campus, Dr. Annjeanette Alain Galang of MMSU as the team leader for the BSIT in Victorias campus, Dr. Viola Amano of BU as the team leader in the BSAB of Hinobaan campus, and Prof. Myrna Coliat of BatSU as the team leader for the BSIT in Hinobaan campus, along with their member accreditors.
Further, for the San Carlos, Sipalay and Cauayan campuses, the overall AACCUP coordinator was Dr. Marcela Caluscusin of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU). With her were the team leader for San Carlos campus BSED, Dr. Lanie Pacadaljen of SSU, and Dr. Rosalina Sagocsoc of CarSU a as the team leader for the BSAB of san Carlos campus, together with their member accreditors.
Meanwhile, for the Sipalay campus BSED program, team leader was Dr. Rowena Abaquita of CTU with her team members. Finally, for Sipalay campus BEED program, it was evaluated by Prof. Lorenel Gako of CTU.
In his message of commitment, CPSU President Dr. Aladino Moraca acknowledged the efforts of the AACCUP accreditors in helping the University to keep its programs in place. He likewise shared the current direction of the University which is to bridge innovation to the community especially to the underserved farmers as one of the strengths of the institution.
“We mobilize our resources and share it to our farmers, community and students as our contribution to poverty alleviation in the countryside. Hence, this accreditation is considered as milestone in our pursuit and commitment to further improve our system,” Dr. Moraca stated.
Likewise, VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Fernando Abello stated how the evaluation was viewed as a blessing for the University for having the assistance of experts from various SUCs to serve as second eyes to further strengthen the programs offered by the institution.
“We recognize the importance of this accreditation to assist us in ensuring the quality in the way we do things especially in this new pedagogical direction with the new normal. We are learning a lot and this evaluation is contributory in our aim to improve and uphold the quality in attaining our Vision, Mission and Goals,” Dr. Abello stated.
He likewise congratulated the local task force per campus for extending their services and dedication especially in the preparation and consolidation of needed support documents for the accreditation.
