[HINOBA-AN, Negros Occidental]—Five new assets of Central Philippines State University-Hinoba-an Campus were blessed and inaugurated yesterday, May 28, 2025.
The new Learning Resource Center, Covered Court, Hybrid Solar Panel, Starlink, and Streetlights were officially unveiled and inaugurated in the presence of CPSU Hinoba-an’s students, faculty, and staff.
The CPSU Hinoba-an community celebrated a eucharistic mass led by the Rev. Fr. Jiver H. Alipo-on and attended by key officials and esteemed guests, as a prayer of gratitude to the Almighty God for the campus’s milestone, marked by the addition of new facilities and technologies.
Following the Eucharistic mass, the ceremonial ribbon-cutting and blessing of the CPSU Hinoba-an Learning Resource Center and Covered Court took place, along with the blessing of the newly installed hybrid solar panel, Starlink, and streetlights.
The University’s Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF), Engr. Marc Alexei Caesar B. Badajos, Ph.D., led key officials including CPSU-Sipalay Campus Administrator, Dr. Ervin P. Ferraris; CPSU-Candoni Campus Administrator, Ms. Armie Shiela T. Calago; and Gender and Development Director, Ms. Shirley A. Calugcugan, in witnessing the momentous event.
“All these facilities are dedicated to making development really felt in the lives of our students and personnel. Please take care of our facilities. I’ll leave this hope to all of you—the hope that wherever you go—every time you wear garments with the school emblem, you become proud that you are from Central Philippines State University. No one can be prouder of ourselves than we Cenphilians, ourselves. This is my plea, that wherever we are and as we bring the name of our university, we stand proud of CPSU—of our Alma Mater,” expressed VPAF Badajos in his message.
On behalf of Hinoba-an’s Municipal Mayor, Hon. Daph Anthony V. Reliquias, his Executive Assistant III, Hon. John Rey Reliquias, and Faculty President, Mr. Reyjie A Rodriguez, relayed their felicitations for the inauguration of the new campus assets in their respective messages—highlighting the significance of the assets in improving higher education learning experiences for students.
CPSU Hinoba-an Campus Administrator, Mr. Patrocenio L. Gonzales, marked the conclusion of the ceremony with his Word of Thanks as he acknowledged the Almighty God, the CPSU Administration and key officials, Hinoba-an Local Government Unit, and the faculty and staff who worked and contributed for the realization and completion of the campus projects.
The campus’ new Learning Resource Center is a sophisticated, high-ceiling facility, flooded with natural light passing through enormous glass panels that serve as walls, designed to provide clientele with study experiences closely connected to nature.
In addition, the Covered Court is expected to help the university facilitate its outdoor activities, protecting Cenphilians from weather hazards typical for the Philippines as a tropical country with wet and dry seasons.
Starlink is expected to provide reliable high-speed internet connections within the campus for Cenphilians, while the hybrid solar panels and streetlights will be auxiliary in meeting the campus’ energy requirements by harnessing renewable energy and by maintaining campus safety and security at nightfall, respectively.
