10 awards conferred to CPSU at CHED RO VXIII-NIR Regional Quality Awards
DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental—Ten awards were conferred to Central Philippines State University (CPSU) during the 1st ever Commission on Higher Education Region XVIII-Negros Island Region (CHED RO XVIII-NIR) Regional Quality Awards.
CPSU was given the following awards:
- Recognition for the Provision to CHED RO XVIII-NIR Endeavors
- Recognition for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) with 100% Certificate of Program Compliance (COPCs) of Undergraduate and Graduate Programs
- Award for Excellence in Community Extension
- Award for Excellence in Research
- Award for Excellence in Internationalization Initiatives
- Model Implementer Award on timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of data submitted to CHED RO XVIII-NIR Higher Education Information Management System (HEMIS)
- World Rankings (Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings—Asia—3 Stars)
- World Rankings (ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance / AUN-QA)
- World Rankings (World University Rankings for Innovation / WURI)
- World Rankings (The Times Higher Education / THE)
The certificates of recognition were presented by CHED RO VXIII-NIR Regional Director, Dr. Raul C. Alavarez, Jr., REE, Ed.D., CESO III, to awardees during the awarding ceremony held at the Luce Auditorium, Silliman University, on May 30, 2025.
Newly appointed CHED Chairperson, Hon. Shirley C. Agrupis, Ph.D., and CHED Commissioner, Hon. Desiderio R. Apag III, PCPE, D.Eng., shared in the celebration of the region’s achievements and excellence by sending their respective video-recorded messages.
On behalf of the University President, Dr. Aladino C. Moraca, Office Directors, Dr. Joe-an May G. Escober (International Affairs and Linkages), Dr. Angelie Rose L. Lumba (Research and Development Services), and Dr. Jimmy O. Degillo (Extension and Community Services) received the award with CPSU Campus Administrators, Dr. Rhoda A. Aguilos (Ilog Campus), Mr. Ken M. Balogo (San Carlos Campus), Ms. Armie Sheila T. Calago (Candoni Campus), and Dr. Noel B. Fordente (Victorias Campus).
At present Region XVIII has 88 HEIs spread throughout the provinces of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.
