[KABANKALAN CITY, March 6, 2025]—Barangay Camingawan Chairman, Hon. Rico Regalia, and the Barangay Council donated three garbage receptacles to Central Philippines State University-Main Campus (CPSU) yesterday.
The garbage receptacles, having four trash bin compartments dedicated to non-biodegradable, recyclable, hazardous, and infectious wastes, were received by the CPSU’s Natural Resources and Environmental Management Services (NREMS) Director, Mr. Gregorio D. Predo during the turnover program.
Held at the Main Campus covered court, university stakeholders, barangay officials, and university officials namely Quality Assurance (QA) Director, Dr. Grenny I. Jungco, Physical Plant Management and General Services Office (PPMGSO) Director, Dr. Moody S. Deocares, witnessed the turnover.
When asked about the purpose of the donation, the NREMS Director answered, “The main purpose of the donor’s generous initiative is to help minimize littering and improper disposal of wastes in the community. In addition, it aims to be auxiliary in promoting environment-friendliness as a predominant value among Cenphilians being manifested in the campus' cleanliness.”
The receptacles will be installed near the campus kiosk, the CPSU 2 intersection, and the Clemente Sports Complex.
When asked about his foresight for the new Main Campus assets, Mr. Predo replied, “With the addition of the garbage receptacles, we hope that they would aid in steadfast advocacy for waste management on the campus. Having our sanitation workers playing a key role in proper waste management and with our community members’ continued cooperation, the receptacles will be used as temporary garbage containment for rubbish waiting for collection and disposal in the designated sanitary landfill.”
The university perceives the donation as potentially instrumental in minimizing health risks by promoting proper sanitary practices and waste management within the community—serving as tangible reminders of the significance of implementing necessary segregation measures in safeguarding the health of the community members.
