ย [KABANKALAN CITY, February 14, 2025]โBGEN Joey A. Escanillas, Commander of the 302nd Infantry Brigade, 3ID, graced the Presentation of Parents and Sponsors of the Central Philippines State University (CPSU) Reserve Officersโ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit with his presence.
ย 25 female sponsors were presented to the community, university key officials, and the esteemed guests of honor, who were appointed along with the corp sponsors, corp sweetheart, and the Dean of Sponsors, Maโam Shirley A. Calugcugan, who is also the Gender and Development (GAD) Office Director.
ย The 306 CPSU Main ROTC cadets, led by CDT COL Josua T. Tapic 1CL (RES) PA, Corps Commander, showcased commendable performances in the โFormation of Troops,โ โManual of Arms,โ and โPasa Masid,โ which evoked amazement and nods of approval from the audience.
ย โTo all the cadets, let today be a reminder that you are not alone in this journey. Beside you stand the people who believe in youโyour families, mentors, and sponsors who see your potential and trust that you will uphold the values of leadership, discipline, and service to our nation. Carry that trust with pride and let that be the driving force that pushes you to excel. In the Armed Forces of the Philippines, we recognize that strength is not only measured by physical endurance or strategic skills, but it also lies in the bonds we form, the values we uphold, and the people who support us. Today, we celebrate those bonds,โ said BGEN Escanillas.
ย CPSUโs Marching Band Unit also added to the solemnity of the event as they skillfully played the Philippine National Anthem, CPSU Hymn, and โAng Bayan Ko,โ and excitement with their rhythmic music that accompanied the ROTC cadets, in addition to their energetic and captivating dances.
ย The CPSU community also welcomed esteemed guests, COL Don L. Villanueva GSC (INF) PA, 605th CDC Director, who accompanied BGEN Escanillas, Hon. Ralph Alvarez, who attended the event on behalf of Negros Occidental Sixth Congressional District Representative, Hon. Mercedes โChedingโ K. Alvarez and CPT Fernando D. Oliveros Jr. PA, the CPSU ROTC Commandant.
ย University President, Dr. Aladino C. Moraca, with Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), Dr. Fernando D. Abello, National Service Training Program (NSTP) Director, Dr. Salvador C. Castor, and ROTC Coordinator, Dr. Moody S. Deocares, and CPSU key officials warmly supported the event and welcomed the honorable guests.
ย โWe are preparing the youth to become future leaders and disciplined individuals who will be safeguarding community peace and order, environmental protection, preservation of the value of families in society, and humanitarian concern and protection. We are expecting that from the Board of Regents until the last element in this university, we commit, and I, as the University President, commit that we will invest up to the last drop of the institutionโs hard-earned money to whatever requirements and support are needed to improve the quality of education we offer, highlighting the training under NSTP and ROTC programs,โ said President Moraca.
ย Amidst the heat of the February sun, the ROTC cadets manifested Filipino fortitude as they stood strong and remained focused on executing commands and routines, which their proud parents and guardians witnessed.
ย The event commenced with an invocation led by Pastor Jay Q. Grejaldo to honor and invite the presence of the Almighty God and ended successfully and safely with standby rescue and disaster response units from the Red Cross Youth, CPSU-Community Rescue and Disaster Emergency Service (COMRADES), and the CPSU Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.
