Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) President, Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi, and Central Philippines State University (CPSU) President, Dr. Aladino C. Moraca signed Memoranda of Agreement for collaborative extension projects.
The ceremonial MOAs signing took place at the NORSU - Main Campus last October 21 which entails the responsibilities of the universities in conducting impact assessments of the projects “Training Workshop on Productivity Tools for Business Application” and “Training Workshop on Sweet Potato Flour Bread and Banana Muffin”.
NORSU’s Vice President for Research, Innovation, Development, and Extension, Dr. Edwin F. Romano, Jr., Extension Director, Dr. Guilbert Nicanor A. Atillo, and Research Director, Dr. Craig N. Refugio, witnessed the signing of the memoranda.
On the other hand, CPSU’s College of Computer Studies (CCS) Dean, Dr. Chester L. Cofino, College of Hospitality Management (CHM) Dean, Ma'am Sheila A. Ignacio, and CCS Extension Coordinator, Ma'am Glorybe E. Alegre, were also present to behold the start of the collaborative extension-relevant initiative between the universities.
According to the memoranda signed, impact studies will be conducted to evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of the extension program’s initiatives in addressing the needs and challenges of the communities they serve.
The initiative is set to commence from October 21, 2024, until December 21, 2024.
The MOAs signing between CPSU and NORSU is potentially one of more joint efforts as the Negros Island Region has been formed, connecting the universities in serving more Negrenses not only within the fortress of the academe but also in the thresholds of Filipino households and communities.
