Central Philippines State University welcomed its inter-species visitors during the 2nd Local Conservation Area Day & BRIDGE Project Forum at CPSU Main Campus themed โProtecting Our School Heritage: Empowering Students in Conservation.โ
Guest wildlife stole the show during the wild-life handling activity where participants were allowed to interact and handle different animals; the safety of the animals and the participants were ensured under the expert supervision of Wildlife Farm Permittee Mr. Caezar Arranguez and team.
The City Planning & Development Office Head Engr. Susana Casalem, ENP inspired the attendees with her keynote address in the said event that transpired at CPSUโs Mount Ballo Hall, June 29, 2024, and was facilitated by the Project BRIDGEโs staff, alongside CPSU Research and Development Services, and the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO).
To inform the attendees with the value-adding potential of the Philippine Cinnamon, Chief Champion for the Philippines Cinnamon Plantsville Health November G. Canieso-Yeo delivered her talk entitled โThe Philippine Cinnamon: Our Journey towards Conservation, Livelihood, Health, and Climate Change Adaptation.โ
Mr. Pierre Gabriel B. San Jose and For. Dominic Billen also delivered their respective talks with the results of Project MoNARC and the Status Report of BRIDGE PROJECT, the latter aiming to tackle critical environmental challenges by empowering local communities, youths, and various stakeholders to actively engage in biodiversity restoration and conservation efforts.
CPSU President Dr. Aladino C. Moraca, Engr. Susana Casalem, ENP, and other representatives led the ceremonial ribbon-cutting for the eventโs photo exhibit.
