La Carlota City College (LCCC) faculty visited Central Philippines State University (CPSU) Main Campus and conducted their benchmarking on CPSUโs existing studies, organic farming technologies, and sustainable farming practices last February 15.
CPSU President Dr. Aladino C. Moraca, CPSU Museum Director Dr. Jose Gay Gallego, College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) Dean Dr. Hanzel L. Pedrosa, and the Research and Development Services (RDS) Director Dr. Angelie Rose L. Lumba along with the faculty of the said areas, welcomed LCCCโs faculty at CPSUโs Historical and Cultural Heritage Center.
The benchmarking endeavor is a part of the established partnership between the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) mentionedโthe fruition of their signed Memorandum of Understanding for research and extension projects last January 31.
CPSU President Aladino C. Moraca led the tour to eight sites within the CPSU reserve as he explained how the existing mechanisms work and shared other trade secrets with the visiting group.
The group tour started at the universityโs Essential Oil Processing Center, succeeded by a tour to the Engineered Bamboo Facility, Historical and Cultural Heritage Center, Bio-gas production facility, industrial-grade drone showcase, vermicast production area, Muscovado production facility, Pandayan ng Bayan para sa Bagong Magsasaka, and the Handloom weaving project.
โOver and over again, I have expressed the commitment of the university to elevate the poorโs way of life. As CPSU and its campuses stand in the soil of their respective communities, the university remains grounded in its conviction to develop multidisciplinary technologies to help the underprivileged navigate the troughs and crests of the changing society. This same conviction that brought us to where we are today and has driven us ever since to soar is something that we want to be duplicated not only by our current partners, LCCC but also by other academic institutions so that by our unified objective, we will be able to genuinely educate Filipinos,โ said Dr. Moraca.
The activity ended with a luncheon at the RDEC Conference room, at 1:00 pm.
