Day 1:"1 Million Trees" Project of Negros Women for Tomorrow Future (NWTF) and Central Philippines State University
On July 11, 2024, CPSU – San Carlos Campus, Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF), and Barangay Guadalupe joined forces to distribute solar lanterns and fruit tree seedlings to selected families in the far flung communities: Lower Malatamban, Upper Malatamban, and So. Gauzon of Barangay Guadalupe, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental. Spearheaded by CPSU-San Carlos Campus Administrator, Ken M. Balogo, Extension and Community Coordinator Domric M. Panunciar, along with some of the faculty, students, and staff.
The initiative sought to address climate change through reforestation and to offer sustainable lighting solution to families living in remote areas without access to electricity.
