Twenty medals were added to the Central Philippines State University's (CPSU) stash including five golds as of December 17, in the ongoing Western Visayas Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (WVRSCUAA) conference 2024.
John Gerald Bernales outswam his competitors in the Men's 200m Butterfly Swimming category and won the hornbillsโ first gold for WVRSCUAAโs third day.
Four more golds were also secured by Cris Jan Depamallo, Rona Jane Labto, Rudy Niรฑo Singular, and Jesamie Hillacone after strategizing and maximizing their strengths to speed through the finish line of the 4X400m mixed relay.
The mighty hornbills also skillfully manifested the fruits of their preparations, winning seven silver medals in the following categories:
1. Women's Relay Swimming - April S. Buenafe, Jonalyn D. Eleterio, Anjie V. Jayme, Marie Stephane V. Tropico
2. Women's Taekwondo Kyurogi (Featherweight Division) - Rosmarie G. Alegre
3. (Athletics) Men's 1500m - Rodel G. Eso
4. (Athletics) Women's Shot Put - Mia Amor Villacencio
Eight bronze medals were also won by the mighty hornbills through their dedication and guts in the following events:
1. Men's Taekwondo Poomsae (Individual) - JV Edrian E. Morden
2. Men's Breaststroke Swimming - Jomary F. Alfonso
3. Womenโs eSports - Jessica B. Maquiling, Roxan L. Maquiling, Princess S. Salcedo, Fanny Love C. Vidal, Gie Ann M. Quicson, and Daniella May Belnas
Additionally, the following Cenphilian teams will be advancing in their respective brackets after winning their third day matches:
1. Men's Beach Volleyball (Game 2) - CPSU vs. WVSU
2. Men's Beach Volleyball (Quarterfinals) - CPSU vs. NISU
3. Menโs Football (lower bracket) - CPSU vs. CHMSU
4. Women's eSports (lower bracket) - CPSU vs. CapSU
5. Womenโs Beach Volleyball (Game 2): CPSU vs. CHMSU
The mighty hornbillโs men's eSports Team also showed admirable efforts in playing five vs. five Mobile Legends Bang Bang games representing the university in their event.
The much anticipated Dancesport is scheduled to take place today, December 18, at the Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology - Main Campus Tiwi Site.
