The ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) training held in Bangkok, Thailand, from August 27 to 30, 2024, was joined by Central Philippines State University Graduate School Dean, Prof. Riza Stephanie A. Alfaras, and Quality Assurance Director, Dr. Grenny I. Jungco.
Dr. Alfaras and Prof. Marfy Cabayao spearheaded the participation of the university officials in the AUN-QA training as another means for the issuance of Certificates of Program Compliance (COPCs) for graduate school programs, Master of Science in Agriculture major in Animal Science, Master of Science in Agribusiness major in Crop Science, and Doctor of Philosophy in Agriculture.
Experts from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Higher Education Institutions, namely, the University of Surabaya’s Dr. Eric Wibisono, National University of Singapore’s Dr. Kay Chuan Tan, and De La University’s Dr. Arnel Onesimo O. Uy conducted the training among twenty-seven participating institutions as AUN-QA trainers.
“The four-day training was very effective as the trainers imparted their expertise in the field of Quality Assurance. A standout learning experience for me was the introduction of AUN-QA’s framework, which has extensive instruments composed of eight major criteria and their sub-criteria. I believe a profound understanding of the instruments is essential in CPSU’s future initiatives to steadfastly ensure the quality of education that we provide for our students.”
University President Dr. Aladino C. Moraca is pushing for CPSU’s associate membership at AUN-QA, with the foresight of success in the university's internationalization—providing a solid foothold for CPSU as a prime HEI worldwide.
Nineteen Philippine institutions from diverse industries sent their representatives to join the academe-dominated AUN-QA training 2024.
