The administration building of Central Philippines State University Main Campus is now powered by a 20kW hybrid PV solar system after the completion of the systemโs installation on July 10.
The solar panels are installed on the roof of the said building and can generate 20 kilowatts of electricity to support the operations of the offices in the said university building.
Proposed by Physical Plant Management and General Services Office Director, Dr. Moody S. Deocares and recommended by the Vice President for Finance and Administration, Dr. Marc Alexei Caesar B. Badajos, CPSUโs Board of Regents approved the projectโs budget for its implementation.
The CPSU Solar Project-Green University Program materialized costing P1,940,000โan investment deemed necessary not only for saving utility costs in the university but also necessary for a greener CPSU campus and a more sustainable means of operation.
The initiative is a testament to the continuous and steadfast pursuit of the university to model the use of innovative technologies in bringing positive change not only in the academe but in the daily lives of Filipinos.
