Central Philippines State Universityโs Medical Dental Health Unit extended its services to the local community as it held a medical mission last July 7 and 8 at CPSU Main Campus.
The medical mission materialized in partnership with the volunteers from the universityโs National Service Training Program, Office of the Sixth District Congresswoman Mercedes โChedingโ Alvarez, JCI Chicks United, and the Rotary Club of Kabankalan City.
CPSU stakeholders were provided with various health services namely, General Consultation, Eye Check-Up with free eye glasses, Circumcision, Mental Health Counseling, and Physical Therapy on its first day at the Mt. Ballo Hall.
Pap Smear, Tooth Extraction, and Free Blood Sugar Testing were offered on its second day at the campusโ clinic; clients were also given service for legal consultation.
University Nurse and CPSU Medical Dental Health Unit head, Kristine Duran expressed, โMost of those who avail the services of the medical mission are underprivileged members of the community. They cannot access medical health services in urban areas because of financial constraints. Here, they are granted access to those services, and they are given medication for free.โ
Medical professionals and health volunteers from the aforementioned agencies and organizations shared their expertise and time as they served the students, faculty, staff, and residents from nearby and even far-flung communities free of charge.
