To ensure that Central Philippines State Universityโs programs are maintaining their compliance with the minimum requirements for their Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) visited CPSU Moises Padilla and Main Campuses on February 14 and 15, 2024.
CHED Region 6 Education Supervisors Dr. Alan P. Lena, and Dr. Rosslin John Robles conducted program monitoring on CPSUโs Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE), Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), and Graduate School programs.
The monitoring included the checking of relevant forms, inquiries on student populations, faculty qualifications, conduct of benchmarking, policies on research writing, internal and external academic collaborations, and available journal subscriptions, as well as the recommendation of possible program offerings in the near future.
CPSU President Dr. Aladino Moraca, Vice President for Finance and Administration Engr. Marc Alexei Caesar B. Badajos, Ph.D, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Fernando D. Abello, and Quality Assurance Director Dr. Grenny I. Jungco accommodated the visiting personnel.
After a short briefing for the monitoring, the Faculties of the College of Engineering headed by Engr. Kris V. Montinola, the College of Computer Studies Officer-in-Charge Shara Mae R. Tee, MIT, and Graduate School Dean Dr. Riza Stephanie A. Alfaras provided the necessary documents, answered queries, and toured the CHED personnel to the facilities of the colleges concerned.
Dr. Robles expressed, โBased on our monitoring, in all key areas, the BSIT program of CPSU Main Campus is compliant with the minimum requirements stated in the CMO. 25 s. of 2015. The said areas include the administration, faculty, curriculum, library, and instructional areas including laboratories and research. So far, the program is 100% compliant โฆ This is my third time visiting the program and every time I visit, there are improvements especially in the facilities and instructional requirements so hopefully, on my next visit, the BSIT program is already occupying the building intended for it.โ
Management Information System Office Director Ryan Escorial, Computer Maintenance Technologist Kit Ian Bayotas, BSABE program head Engr. Alfredo U. Castro Jr., BSEE program head Engr. Alberto R. Deliรฑa, BSME program head Engr. Janet Serisola, CPSU Main Campus College Librarian III Julius R. Fetiluna, and Registrar III Mr. Rhonelo Lobrique, MPA along with the faculty from CCS, COE, and the graduate school were present and assisted in supplementing the needed information for the monitoring.
CPSU's top management expressed its continued commitment to not only maintaining compliance with minimum requirements but also pursuing quality education for the benefit of the Filipino youth, contributing to building the nation.
