94th Infantry โMandirigmaโ Battalion conferred plaques of recognition to Central Philippine State University (CPSU) President Dr. Aladino Moraca and Development Communication and Information Office (DCIO) Director Dr. Flora L. Carpio last February 20.
The battalion celebrated its 6th founding anniversary celebration at Barangay Tambo, Ayungon, Negros Oriental, and recognized 94th IBโs partners in solving the armed insurgence on the island of Negros.
Brigadier General Leonardo I. Peรฑa and other 94th IB officials presented the award to the recipients with CPSU Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Dr. Fernando D. Abello receiving the award on behalf of Dr. Moraca.
โI am deeply honored to be the recipient of this award as this is a testament to the impact that we, from the academe, can make not only in our immediate community but to our country. The fact that members of the insurgence are choosing to resubmit themselves to the government should drive us to our respective parts in improving the social and economic conditions of the country to intercept extrinsic motivations from being the stimuli contributing to the insurgent dilemma that we have. I also extend my salutation to the 94th Infantry Mandirigma Battalion for maintaining the peace and order that we have in the region,โ said award recipient, Dr. Moraca.
CPSU Radyo Muscovado Sweet FM radio manager Dr. Carpio received the plaque for broadcasting โBalitang Mandirigmaโ which oriented former at-large rebels of the existing programs of the Philippine government and the Armed Forces of the Philippines for rebels who desire to surrender.
โWe are more inspired to come up with some programs, not only to educate and to inform but also to engage more with the community. I believe that radio is a powerful medium that reaches even the most far-flung of areasโRadyo Muscovado reaching the farthest part of Negros Oriental and even some portions of Cebu. Our commitment is that we will continue broadcasting educational programs that can be of service to the people in our community,โ answered Dr. Carpio when asked about her thoughts and commitment upon receiving the award.
94th Infantry โMandirigmaโ Battalion celebrated its 6th anniversary with the theme "Valiant Mandirigma: Forging Peace, Shaping Prosperity in Negros Island."
Alongside VPAA Dr. Abello, VPAA Secretary Dr. Michael M. Bacolod also witnessed the event.
