The tenth commencement ceremony for Central Philippines State Universityโs (CPSU) Farmersโ Field School (FFS) for Camingawan Lumboy Pinamus-an Tamlang Farmers Association (CALPTFA) transpired last January 22, 2024, at CPSU Main Campus.
Kabankalan City Sanggunian Panglungsod Adolfo Mangao Jr. attended the culminating activity for the non-formal endeavor which took place at the universityโs RDEC Conference, facilitated by the faculty and staff of the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) and the Production and Enterprise Development Office (PEDO).
Farmersโ Field Schoolโs 10th batch of graduatesโ curriculum included onion-growingโwhose long-term objective is establishing an onion industry locally, particularly in Kabankalan City.
28 CALPTFA farmers received their certificates of completion after PEDO Director Dr. Maryvic P. Pedrosa presented the number of program graduates and after CAF Dean Dr. Hanzel L. Pedrosa proclaimed them as graduates.
Dr. Emiliano Sama, Executive Assistant to the Kabankalan City Vice Mayor, expressed gratitude for the partnership among the university, the office of the vice mayor, and the office of the Sanggunian Panlunsod to support the cityโs farmers associations; he also relayed felicitations for the completers of the Farmersโ Field School program.
The CALPTFA members gave their testimonies and presented various performances that were representative of their experiences during their training and daily field activities.
CPSUโs top management led by the university President Dr. Aladino C. Moraca continuously expressed their support for the said program for the empowerment of the local farmers and the advancement of the agricultural sector of the country.
Being able to produce a tenth batch of farmers to finish the non-formal education program was the collective effort of Dr. Maryvic P. Pedrosa, Dr. Hanzel L. Pedrosa, May Opino, Mr. Jundel Gonzaga, Ms. Genalin Mangao, Mr. Arnel Calago, Ms. Mari Neila Seco, Mr. Romnic Cabelin, Ms. Mary Ann Canada, Mr. Warren Kim Siarot, Mr. Noel S. Dayono, Mr. Albert Piera, and Extension and Community Services Director Dr. Jimmy O. Degillo who also congratulated the graduates in his closing remarks.
