Department of Agriculture (D.A.) Region 6 commits broadcasting equipment and recording studio material donations in the near future to Central Philippines State University as announced by the agencyโs representative last February 15, 2024.
CPSU President Dr. Aladino C. Moraca and SUC President Executive Assistant Maโam Victoria P. Besana welcomed Mylene Subang, D.A. Western Visayas Information Officer 2 at Dr. Moracaโs office to discuss the objective of her visit.
College of Agriculture (CAF) Instructor I Jundel Gonzaga, MSc, Assistant Professor III Noel Dayono, MSc, and CPSU Public Information Office (PIO) personnel accompanied Ms. Subang for a meeting with Development Communication and Information Office (DCIO) Director Dr. Flora L. Carpio and CAF Dean Dr. Hanzel L. Pedroza at the RDEC Conference room.
Dr. Carpio led Ms. Subang to CPSUโs local radio station, Radyo Muscovado Sweet FM to show the DA personnel the current equipment and facility that the university and the radio station are using in disseminating local and national news and current affairs, and diverse information promoting the bolstering of the agricultural sector.
After the talks were conducted, future sponsorship from the Department of Agriculture for the benefit of Central Philippines State University stakeholders is currently being anticipated.
โโIt takes a village to raise a child,โ as a Nigerian Igbo community proverb saysโwe, in CPSU, believe that to raise a generation of Filipinos that believe in the beauty of organic agriculture and sustainable farming, there is a necessity to educate the community about these constructs and practices. The Radyo Muscovado is an essential cog to this design. Through the airwaves, we are able to make our fellowmen from the far-flung areas more learned. With the help of the Department of Agriculture, we will be able to refurnish and refurbish such an essential cog, uplifting the lives of Filipinos in this part of the country,โ expressed Dr. Moraca.
The anticipated donation is expected to help upgrade the current broadcast media reach and improve the quality of the multimedia content produced by the universityโs colleges and by various offices like the DCIO and PIO.
