Central Philippines State University-Main Campus conducted a jam-packed January 2024 Monthly Convocation, welcoming the 46 newly-hired and promoted CPSU personnel and being a venue for promoting and preservation of Visayan cultural and natural heritage.
The monthly convocation, having the theme “Preserving the Visayan Heritage”, started at 9:00 AM on January 15, 2024 at the Clemente Sports complex of the CPSU Main Campus and was attended by personnel and students from the University’s various colleges and frontline offices.
Hosted by the College of Arts and Sciences and overseen by Dr. Pilipinas Ma. D. Jareño, Dean of the Office of Student Services and Affairs (OSSA), the convocation started with the opening salvo followed by the opening remarks of Dr. Ferdinand D. Abello, Vice President for Academic Affairs, which encapsulated the recent breakthroughs of the university.
To realize the theme, Dr. Jose Gay Gallego and Mr. Larry John Perez delivered their respective messages which expounded the meaning of the term “heritage”, and the strategies of preserving the local cultural and natural heritage. Dr. Gallego introduced the museum’s tagline, “Ang pagpahanumdum sa bilidhon nga palanubli-on.”
Commencing the second part of the program was the introduction and oath-taking of the 46 newly hired and promoted personnel with their respective office heads as witnesses.
The activity ended with the closing remarks of Dr. Aladino Moraca, CPSU President as he posed a challenge to the newly hired personnel by telling them, “Be part of the solution and not of the problem.”
