“Your blood is the bridge to a better
tomorrow.”
Kabankalan City – The Central Philippines State University Medical-Dental Health Unit (MHU) successfully conducted a bloodletting activity last on December 13, 2023, at Mt. Ballo, CPSU-Main Campus. The said activity was made possible in collaboration with the University National Service Training Program (NSTP) and ROTC, and the Negros First Provincial Blood Center and Kabankalan City Health Office.
Among those who showed support through blood donations were the CPSU students, staff, parents and members of CafGO, resulting to a total of sixty-eight (68) blood donors who generously contributed to this life-saving cause.
Nurse Kristine Duran, head of the CPSU-MDHU team, said that the aim of annually holding this activity was to gather blood donations that are essential for medical treatments. The joint effort of all those involved including the volunteers, along with the support of the community made this event a successful one.
“The donated blood will be distributed to
different district hospitals in Bacolod City including district hospitals in
Kabankalan City to be used in helping people needing medical care in the
community,” Nurse Duran said.
This initiative exemplifies the University’s collective efforts in making a positive impact to support the community’s crucial medical needs.
