In a boon for small-scale farming, Central Philippines State university collaborates with NETAFIM Philippines, a global leader in precision irrigation for efficient and sustainable agriculture, in the installation of drip irrigation at CPSU GreenTech Area. This collaborative endeavor aims to revolutionize agricultural practices for water conservation initiatives, decreasing labor while increasing effectiveness on uneven ground.
As a demo farm, this irrigation system installed in the CPSU GreenTech is hailed as a game-changer for small-scale farmers facing scarcity and resource constraints as this system has the ability to adapt to the unique needs of the small plots of land making it a practical solution for famers with limited properties. Adopting this system will provide the farming community a better way to elevate their farming experiences.
In a talk with Sir James Hunt, representative of the Netafim Philippines, he shared his legacy of bringing farming opportunities for the Filipino people, especially to the children. He articulated the significance in shaping the economic and social fabric of the Philippines through agriculture, urging stakeholders to join hands in building a future where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the prosperity of the nation.
Present to witness the event were Dr. Angelie Rose Lumba, Director of Research and Development Center, Dr. Maryvic Pedrosa, Director of the Production and Enterprise Development, Dr. Hanzel Pedrosa, and Dean of the College of Agriculture and Forestry, along with Sir Jundel Gonzaga, and Sir Noel Dayono of CAF, and Sir Gerald Deguit, and Sir Joe Marie Reyes.
