Fostering a culture of appreciation and gratitude, CPSU held its first-ever Personnel send-off and Awards Night with the theme, “CPSU Pasidungog: A Night of Glamour and Success,” last June 22, 2023 at Zaycoland Resort and Hotel.
The said event became the byword among the attendees as one of the most anticipated events in the entire CPSU community. Donning their full-length Filipiniana gowns in modern remake and polo barong, awardees proudly received their plaques which is proof of their hard work, dedication, perseverance and professionalism in their line of work.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Jose Novo Dagunan who represented Kabankalan City Mayor, Hon. Benjie Miranda, and Ms. Angelica Alvarez who also represented Hon. Mercedes Alvarez, the representative of the 6th district of Negros Occidental.
Dr. Aladino Moraca, CPSU president, warmly congratulated the awardees and expressed his commendation for their contribution to CPSU which he considered a significant factor in increasing the University’s performance, productivity, and engagement.
“Holding this personnel send-off and awards night is one way to recognize all your efforts, hard work and dedication in the pursuit of our noble calling. May you serve as an inspiration to everyone and may you remain committed in serving the University and in performing your roles for the achievement of our mission and vision,” Dr. Moraca said.
Also present to grace the event were the CPSU Board of Regents (BOR) Hon. Germaine Zulueta representing Hon. Francis Escudero, Hon. Demer Paglomutan, faculty representative, Hon. Fernando Abello, alumni representative, Hon. Frij Colmenares-Bimbao, student representative and Mrs. Nelly Cabual, the Board Secretary. Also with them were former faculty regent Mrs. Debbielou Enquilino, former student representative Andrelyn Bello, and the VP for Admin and Finance, Engr. Marc Alexei Caesar Badajos.
In the Send-off of retirees, Dr. Joel Perez, the former VP for Research and Extension and VP for Academic Affairs, delivered his message to everyone in the academe stating how each should work with passion and to focus on the goal ahead, and to always cultivate a grateful heart for every opportunity that comes their way.
Among the retirees were Ma’am Dawn Pineda, Sir Renante Maquiling, Sir Reymund Antonio, Ma’am Merle Derrama, Sir Pablito Cuizon, Sir Reynaldo Tababa, Sir Guillermo Gomez, and the late Mrs. Cynthia Gantalao, represented by her daughter, Ms. Jhaeza Gantalao.
After which, the Loyalty awardees who have served the institution for 10 years and more were also given recognition. Following them were the Promoted personnel for both the teaching and non-teaching groups, and finally the Reclassified faculty from Instructor II to Professor VI through the 8th cycle NBC 461.
Aside from these awards, the CPSU internationalization team headed by Dr. Moraca and Dr. Denis Bilocura, former International Affairs director, who worked for the University’s inclusion in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings (THE) and World Universities with Real Impact (WURI) were likewise given recognition.
The realization of the said event was through the collaborative efforts of the working committee headed by the event chairperson, Dr. Eleanor Castro, Director for curriculum planning and development and the CPSU admin.
