St. Paul University-Dumaguete (SPU) conducted a model referencing visit at Central Philippines State University (CPSU) Main Campus to learn about the best practices of CPSU's postgraduate programs on the morning of March 5, 2025.
Eight (8) administrators and faculty members from SPU Dumaguete participated in an official meeting with the CPSU Graduate School Dean, Prof. Riza Stephanie A. Alfaras; Quality Assurance Director, Dr. Grenny I. Jungco; and Curriculum Planning and Development Director, Dr. Pilipinas Ma. D. Jareรฑo, and were welcomed by the university presidentโs executive assistant, Maโam Victoria P. Besana.
Prof. Alfaras elaborated on the history of CPSU's graduate school, recent university affiliations, rankings, and recognitions, as well as the Certificates of Program Compliance (COPCs) and accreditation levels of its programs.
She also discussed the challenges faced and measures taken to comply with state requirements, admission and retention policies, and the theses and dissertations defense writing system.
Following a luncheon at the CPSU Mini Hotel, SPU Dumaguete administrators and guests were given a tour of Cenphilian project sites by CPSU officialsโthese sites showcased technologies and project models advocated by CPSU to be replicated in local communities as sustainable livelihood models.
They also visited the universityโs CPSU Cultural Heritage Museum to have a glimpse of the university and local communityโs rich history and took a studio tour of the 100.5 CPSU Radyo Muscovado Sweet FM radio station, which has been recognized by various agencies for its impact through the local airwaves since its foundation.
