The Level IV Phase 2 accreditation for the undergraduate programs, Bachelor in Sugar Technology (BST) and the Bachelor of Science in Applied Statistics/Statistics (BSS), concluded successfully last October 16.
The Level II Survey Visit for the Graduate Schoolโs Master in Public Administration (MPA) program also ended productively in an exit conference held on October 18.
The opening program and the accreditation proper were held in Central Philippines State University-Main Campus, with the presence of esteemed AACCUP accreditors via video teleconferencing.
The accreditors were welcomed by the University President, Dr. Aladino C. Moraca, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Fernando D. Abello, and Vice President for Administration and Finance, Engr. Marc Alexei Caesar B. Badajos, key officials, and the local task forces of the programs subject to accreditation.
On behalf of the AACCUP accreditation team for BST and BSS, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technologyโs (NEUST) Dr. Analyn M. Gamit, AACCUP Overall Coordinator, delivered the initial results from the academic exercise while Batangas State Universityโs Dr. Jennifer M. Cueto delivered the general impressions for the MPA program.
Dr. Amit cited several general impressions of the universityโs BST program, which included being the sole Philippine state university that offers the program, contributing to the sugar industryโs manpower, and sharing household-base or small-scale muscovado production training for the local communities as part of its extension program.
She also cited their impressions on the BSS program including notable faculty performance in the field of research, citing their engagement in the development of interdisciplinary research endeavors, the active involvement of its faculty and students in extension programs for partner communities, and its international linkages to two recognized academic institutions which involve learning material exchanges.
Dr. Cueto mentioned several notable points for the MPA program including the interactiveness of the virtual tour conducted, the qualifications of the program faculty most of whom are doctorate degree holders and are employed with regular statuses, and the community-relevant, long-term, and sustainable community and extension projects being done with alignment to the MPA program.
