The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Central Philippines State University (CPSU) - College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) successfully held the Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness Response and Enforcement (iCARE) Program to strengthen awareness of safety, discipline, and environmental protection.
Held on April 20, 2026, the information drive featured a series of lectures from PCG officers representing PCG Kabankalan Sub-Station, Marine Environmental Protection Unit, Protection Response Unit Southern Visayas, and Special Operation Unit Southern Negros Occidental.
SN1 Darwin S. Bernesto explained the mission and vision of the Coast Guard, while ASN Joepry E. Chua discussed its core functions and recruitment qualifications.
PO2 Christi Don S. Siva emphasized the importance of proper waste segregation in protecting the marine environment, and PO3 Jeodar N. Moises demonstrated essential water safety and survival techniques.
The inspirational and closing messages were both delivered by LTJG Krislyn D. Villarosa, Acting Sub-Station Commander of CGSS Kabankalan, who inspired participants with words of leadership and unity and concluded by urging everyone to uphold safety and community service.
Mr. Bingbong D. Agaton, CCJE faculty and Laboratory Custodian-in-Charge, welcomed the PCG partners and attendees, encouraging the students to embrace responsibility and service.
Guiding the flow of the program was SN1 Rich Mar C. Guanzon, who served as Master of Ceremonies.
The event concluded as an impactful testament to the strong collaboration between CPSU and the PCG in shaping future leaders and advancing service-orientedness.
