One hundred twenty-seven (127) completed studies and fifty-two (52) research proposals by Cenphilian faculty were presented during Central Philippines State Universityโs (CPSU) 2nd Agency Research In-House Review and Annual Graduate Studies Research Symposium.
The completed studies and research proposals were presented over three days, from September 17 to 19, 2026, at two venues in the universityโs New Graduate School Building, in simultaneous sessions, with the expertise of invited distinguished researchers from various agencies and higher education institutions.
Philippine Rice Research Instituteโs Dr. Alvin D. Palanog (Senior Science Research Specialist), University of Negros OccidentalโRecoletos' (UNO-R) Dr. Ryan T. Sarimong (Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Program Head), and Carlos Hilado Memorial State Universityโs (CHMSU) Dr. Ricky B. Acanto (College of Arts and Sciences Faculty) shared their academic insights for studies under Natural/Biological Sciences, Food and Agriculture, Fisheries, Biodiversity Studies, Information and Industrial Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
CHMSUโs Dr. Ronora S. Malaga (Research Journal of Education Science and Technology Associate Editor and Associate Professor V); UNO-Rโs Dr. Dennis V. Madrigal (Graduate School Dean); Negros Oriental State Universityโs Dr. Craig N. Refugio (University Research Director and Professor VI) and Dr. Liza J. Caballero (Bayawan Campus Assistant Campus Administrator and Associate Professor); West Visayas State Universityโs Dr. Ryan Micheal F. Oducado, MAN, MAEd, RN, RM, LPT, RGC (University Research Director Professor II), and Dr. Genesis G. Camarista (Himamaylan Campus Administrator); and University of St. La Salle-Bacolod's Dr. Ramon Clemente Martin F. Lachica, RPsy (Department of Psychology Professor II) and Dr. Annabelle D. Magbanua (Research and Ethics Review Office Former Director) also constituted the esteemed panel of experts for the studies in the areas of Education, Governance and Policy Studies, Management, Social Sciences, Arts and Language & Humanities, and Gender and Development Studies.
The presented papers explore several key research areas, including leading innovations using artificial intelligence, productivity-driven agricultural technology, research collaborations with foreign partners in ecological conservation, ecological intervention impact assessments, endangered species rehabilitation initiatives, digital literacy studies, a close look at resilience stories, and the development of grassroots program bases.
Additionally, the studies look into crop protection and development-centered studies, virtual local tourism innovation, Cenphilian alumni tracer studies, and needs-sensitive technology to empower persons with disabilities.
The Research & Development and Graduate Research Symposium 2026 is a joint undertaking between the Research and Development Services Office, headed by Director Dr. Angelie Rose L. Lumba, and the CPSU Graduate School, headed by Dean Professor Riza Stephanie A. Alfaras, PhD.
Through the undertaking, CPSU continues to challenge its academic personnel and provides a platform to celebrate research breakthroughs as a concrete attestation to its mission to generate and extend leading technologies in multidisciplinary areas beneficial to the community.
