Oct 06, 2025 | News

The Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated by the Central Philippines State University (CPSU) community as an expression of gratitude for its 79th Foundation Anniversary, during the fourth day of its University Week, on October 2, 2025.

Most Reverend Louie P. Galbines, DD, STHD, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kabankalan, led the mass as its main celebrant; Rev. Fr. Romeo Daub, Rev. Fr. Enrique Pineda, and Rev. Fr. Severino Nacional, III also joined as mass celebrants held at CPSU Main Campus’ Clemente Sports Complex.

University officials from the academic and administrative councils, as well as academic and non-teaching personnel, and students, including extension campus delegates, gathered to participate in the religious undertaking.

The homily centered on the Gospel of Matthew as Bishop Galbines highlighted angels and their roles as messengers and how they relate to the role of the community members.

In addition, he also expounded on the roles of civil servants in serving the community and ended his message on a thankful note for the role of the university in the professional development of priests who are serving in the diocese and schools under its leadership.

Community members, including key officials, solemnly marched towards the altar, dedicating their offerings and partaking in the holy communion to express gratitude and humility before the Almighty God.

The Thanksgiving Mass ended in the benediction of the celebrants for the university and the community.
