Bolstering the skills of 542nd Engineer Construction Battalion (542nd ECB) personnel and Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs), Central Philippines State University conducted a training on animal feed formulation.
Held at the 542ECB Headquarters, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on July 5, 2024, CPSU Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Fernando D. Abello and College of Agriculture and Forestry Dean, Dr. Hanzel T. Pedrosa led the universityโ€™s faculty in the up-skilling event.

The objectives of the training are to capacitate the attendees in agricultural product making and to improve their existing capabilities in effectively implementing sustainable agricultural practices.
A highlight in the activity is the selection of raw materials, introduction of the formulation techniques, and introduction of quality control measures for the formulation of nutrition-rich and cost-effective animal feeds.

In his statement taken from 542nd Engineer Construction Battalion, Philippine Armyโ€™s article, the unitโ€™s Commanding Officer LTC BERNABE L TAGUBAN CE (GSC) PA expressed, โ€œThis livelihood training is a testament to the power of collaboration between academic institutions and military units. The skills and knowledge gained here will undoubtedly benefit our personnel and the communities we serve."
