Cenphilians placed 8th, 9th, and 10th at the 3rd CHED Regional Office VI Online Chess Tournament held last May 20 for public and private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

Jo-an Letrada, CPSU Main Campus Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering student, and Wendy Ansiong, CPSU Hinobaan Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) student, respectively clinched the 8th place and 9th place for the Women’s category while John Gil Carlos De Juan, CPSU Hinobaan BSIT student, clinched the 10th place for the men’s category.

The CHED-organized tournament was held in alignment with the celebration of the CHED’s 30th Anniversary and with the 4th Higher Education Week.

The online chess tournament is held annually and is joined by both faculty and students of HEIs throughout Western Visayas.
