Central Philippines State University through its Kinetics, Sports and Cultural Development (KSCD) office headed by Prof. Rachel Robles, the University sports and cultural director, in collaboration with the Supreme Student Government (SSG) headed by its federated president, Hon. Andrelyn Bello, held a university-wide virtual cultural and sports competitions as it celebrates its Diamond Jubilee Anniversary last September 29-30, 2021.
This tourney of wit, beauty, artistry, and mental and physical prowess had long been part of the University's annual event to harness students' skills while also providing an avenue for exposure of their talents.
This year is quite unique from all the rest. As the University held its Diamond Anniversity amidst pandemic, it also made use of the virtual space for the conduct of its cultural, arts and sports events for the first time. Such event fostered the development of students' spirit of sportsmanship, resiliency, and dependability while also playing a crucial role in developing their cognitive, emotional and social development.
Cultural events were as follows: Folkdance, Hip-hop Duo, Contemporary Solo, Pop Solo, Vocal Duet, Song Composo, Newscasting, Spoken Words Poetry, Digital Arts, Slogan Making and Photography. While, for the Sports events were Dance Sports (Latin category) and Chess Male and Female Categories. These were participated by Cenphilians throughout the 10 campuses of the University.
Judging was held via Zoom and was also streamed through Facebook Live. Participants in the said events showcased their dauntlessness and prowess in their respective events, fostering their confidence, civic pride and tolerance. Despite the individual peculiarities, situation and differences of the participants, the said events cultivated in them the spirit of being true Cenphilians - resilient, persevering and committed.
