For over 25 years, Simplicio Gamboa Sr. (SGS) Foundation, Inc., the socio-civic arm of the Hexagon Group of Companies, has been providing scholarship grants to academically qualified but financially challenged students who want to pursue a college education.
Selection of Grantees shall be based mainly on academic competence and financial need. For incoming first year college students, the average from Grade 7 to Grade 12 must be 88 or better; and the maximum age limit is 20 years old by the time all requirements are submitted. Continuing college student applicants must have a cumulative general average of 2.0 / 85% or better. All applicants must belong to the indigent, poverty stricken, or low income earning family group. Applicants must not be receiving Scholarship or Financial Assistance from any other public or private institution, and must not have been involved in any disciplinary case. Priority shall be given to students in universities and colleges in Bacolod and Negros, including but not limited to Bacolod City College, all campuses of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College, Technological University of the Philippines – Visayas, all campuses of Central Philippines State University. Scholarship grant includes tuition and miscellaneous fees and allowance. Also included are incentives for graduating with honors.
Interested applicants must submit the following: accomplished Application Form with vicinity sketch of residence; Letter of Intent addressed to the President of the Foundation; Original Transcript of Records or complete Report of Grades since starting college for continuing college students / Form 137 with grades from Grade 7 to Grade 12 for incoming college freshmen; Certificate of Good Moral Character; two (2) pieces 2x2 photos; parent’s Income Tax Returns or Certificate of Indigency. Upon pre-registration or enrollment, the following are to be submitted: Certificate of Registration or proof of enrollment; Statement of Account or printout of Assessment of Fees if applicable; Course Curriculum Sheet, and a certification from the College Guidance / Scholarship Office that he/she is not a recipient of any other scholarship or financial assistance from any public or private institution.
